I hope DNS will teach me the essential pedagogical skills that I will need in order to become the effective activist that I want to become, who uses education as a tool of mobilisation.
I feel it’s a key point to keep questioning what has been considered a norm. I would like to immerse myself into what we assume about learning and teaching and search for alternatives.
I have decided to join DNS for many reasons – one being that after my many adventures I have come to realise how important education is and that it plays a key role in societal change.
Theresa Link graduated from DNS in 2012. She has worked as a social educator and teacher in Denmark and Germany. Music and performance art are some of her passions.
My passion for learning makes me invest quite some time in finding out new things, new ways and new processes and, of course, my passion for learning made me become a teacher.

I see DNS Teacher Training as a lifestyle which will challenge the concept of education in the world and help people like me to transform and find the unique kind of teacher within. Either we rebel or we don’t.

“People are different and have different boundaries. DNS helped me to realize that everybody has different limits, and we cannot ask everybody to do the same. This is what I use also a lot when I’m teaching.”
“DNS redefined the meaning of “teacher” for me. A teacher is someone who inspires, challenges and cares, and I try to do that every day. I work at a specialised care home for people with psycho-social issues.”
Finally, I know I am ready to engage any adventure, and since I was little I loved to talk in public, share, learn and teach. So, then when I found out about DNS it was the light at the end of the tunnel.
“At some point I decided that I wanted to be a teacher who fights for justice and dignity together with the people. A teacher who is not limited by the four walls of a classroom – rather the opposite.”
Without warning, I broke the rules and chose to travel, and for the first time I felt that I was free to learn, free from any boundaries, able to check the perimeter and test my limits. Pulling me as far as I could reach.
Today, we need debates about feminism, peace, ecology, social movements, and much more. Creative alternative education offers each of us new perspectives and new ways of understanding.
