Educators for Change
4th to 10th October 2026
Climate Action
Are you prepared to become a more impactful educator?
What can you expect?
As educators, we hold the key to empowering the next generation to not only understand the climate crisis but to actively participate in the solutions. By integrating climate action into our teaching, we can transform this urgent issue into a responsibility that every student feels capable of addressing and deeply connected to.
Currently, many schools may discuss climate change, but are we truly training our youth to act? Are we equipping them with the tools, knowledge, and drive to make a difference in their communities and beyond? Are we giving them the opportunity to become active participants in the collective effort to slow the environmental crisis and create a thriving, sustainable society?
What will you gain?
Tools and strategies to integrate peace education into your current practices.
Inspiration and confidence to shift your classroom from a place of potential tension to one of healthy dialogue and collaboration.
Practical approaches to develop youth leadership, critical thinking and empathy.
A supportive, lasting network of educators connected in our peace movement.
Time and space to plan, reflect and build actionable projects you can implement at home.
Why should you join?
As educators, we shape how the next generation understands the world and their role in it. But in a time of growing crises, uncertainty, and division, many of us feel unsure how to help our students move from awareness to meaningful action.
This programme is here to change that.
It’s for teachers, youth workers, and future educators who believe education should do more than inform—it should empower. You’ll explore practical ways to build curiosity, responsibility, and confidence in your classrooms and communities, turning learning into something that leads to real action.
By joining, you become part of a global community of educators supporting each other to do this work together. We’ll share tools, ideas, and strategies that help young people collaborate, take initiative, and create positive change where they live.
Education isn’t just about understanding the world as it is. It’s about giving the next generation the tools to shape what comes next.
Course Themes
Another Kind of Teacher
Discover the key ideas behind being “another kind of teacher.” We will share pedagogical methods based on collective learning, gaining a global perspective, and experience-based projects that can have a profound effect on students today.
The Nine Planetary Boundaries
Explore project-based learning as a method to encourage full participation and collaboration. We will delve into the limits of Earth’s natural systems, beyond which we risk serious harm to the planet’s environment and our way of life, as well as their correlation with the global economy’s perpetual growth.
Cross-Curricular Environmental Education
We will learn and discuss how and why to teach about nature and sustainable practices such as gardening, we will analyse our own curricula and demands from our work, to see how we can use it to push our students to engage collectively with climate action.
Critical Thinking & Transformative Action
Unpack the messaging, propaganda, and bias that affect our youth and society. Learn about the immediate impact of marketing towards people and the planet, as well as the importance of analysing the motives of media and advertisement.
Action Planning
Throughout the week, we gain many tools and ideas. We dedicate this last theme to planning! In small groups, you will determine one or two concrete activities or small-projects to activate your youth. You’ll give and receive feedback, and plan follow-up meetings to ensure you have the support to implement your plans successfully.
