The new headmaster was appointed in May 2008, graduated from EPF Benguela and futher trained at OWU in Mozambique. The recruitment of students for the first team started in July 2008.    The construction of the buildings of EPF Kunene started in September 2008, and the first phase of the construction will be finished and ready to be put into use in February 2009.
The training of the first team started on the 1st of November in a primary school borrowed from the provincial delegation of education. A real pioneer team, who since their beginning have started to take up many activities with their local community.
EPF Kunene has participated in a Water and Sanitation program with the objective was to train the teachers in how to teach their pupils about the importance of basic hygiene, sanitation and safe drinking water. EPF Kunene also celebrated Global Hand Washing Day 2008.
