My story is simple..
I went to Africa as DI and my view on the World has been changed. I loved to be in the project, to work with the people- some of which infected by HIV/ AIDS. It's lovely to bring little happines into their lives every day.
My eyes got opened and I see now the World in a different way. I have learned how not to complain about what I don't have and see what I have-that's cool :)
DNS is the next step and I can get many experiences and develop myself in many ways.
I like to be in contact with people from different backgrounds and nationalities multi-culty OLÉ!!
To discuss how we can be a part of developing the usage of natural resources ,to do eco farming and hitchhike through Denmark and, of course, study this "japanese"danish language.
What can I say more?? I started and I like it :)
My secrets? I can do karate and massage... OYE
I look forward to becoming a good teacher and to work with alternative education.
Amos Komensky says that "the school is a game. It needs to be an inspiration for the kids so they don't go to school with a pressure but instead they will have the will to learn, express themselves and look forward for a good future!"

Hello, my name is Andrea from Czech Republic!
After my graduation at University I decided to join the DI program in Norway and after 6months I went to India where I had been working in Community Development project. For me was just impossible not to be astonished by India and it’s cultural diversity. I find that the more a country’s differs from my own the more interest and appeal it holds for me. I have decided to keep on travelling and getting deeper into different cultures and life styles.
I have found challenging my own perspectives and my comfort zone to be extremely rewarding and essential to my personal growth. We live and work in an environment which is continually changing. DNS as a place with multicultural education with program which includes a lot of travelling can keep my adaptability high.
You can learn a lot in your classes, but you can’t learn about human relationship and about life from a book.

Greta from Lithuania

GretaDream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want to do.

Have you ever thought or imagined your life in the future? I do.. I truly know what I want to do in my future and where I want to be. “The necessary teaching training college” is the place where I really want to study and create my life.

Talking about me, I am Greta from Siauliai, Lithuania. I am a school-leaver now so the majority of my time I spent for studying and preparing for the last year exams. After school I want to enroll in “The necessary teaching training college” (DNS) where I learn for four years.

In fact, now I am in the DNS college for visiting. Here I try to know more about its education system and life in here. The preparatory weekend is an excellent opportunity to get more knowledge about this college. So now I am trying to write my experiences.

Firstly, I never feel lonely because students try to know me. Besides, in every day I have really great day program with lots of activities. For example, I have a presentation about India by a girl who recently has come from it. Moreover, I have a disco and really great evening or I go to the gym and play volley ball. Also, I can to say that my English knowledge is not very good but all students and teachers try to understand me and help me.

But you know what is the most important? It is a passion in all the students and teachers eyes and hearts when they are telling about travel to India, teaching practice, their experience and you really want to hear more and more. In fact, they also can talk about it all day and they always telling you something new. This is truly enchanting!!

What is more, all students and teachers live together. In this way, they become one big family and it is really great because you never be alone and your team members always help you to cope with your difficulties. For this reason, it is a perfect way to learn how to work in a team.

In addition, I truly can say that I am strongly preparred for my life changes! I am really glad that I am here because I met beautiful and very good people who really know how to enjoy simple things.

It's now or never

I just wanna live while I'm alive” /Bon Jovi/

Hi, everybody!!!

My name is Gunārs, I am a 20 year old Latvian. My reasons to join the DNS are very simple and complicated at the same time. I was very disappointed with the low practical training in my original university, so I started looking for alternatives. During my research I stumbled on DI program, that is a part of Tvind, but that didn’t really work out, so about 8 month later I received an e-mail about a presentation in my country and ended up here, my reasons for that were:

  1. The „Learning by doing” approach in Tvind, the possibility to travel the world and meet diferent people, to learn a lot of new skills and share my knowlage with others, make my part in changing the world, even if it’s a small one....

MarcelHi there! My name is Marcel,

I'm 22 and I decided to join DNS after the DI program (Volunteer in Africa as a Development Instructor) in Malawi!

Deciding some time ago to change my life completely, I joined the Development Instructor Programme here in Denmark.

Beeing in Africa during my Project-time I saw the need of educated Educators… and which impact even the most simple kind of education can have for the children and everyone there and all around the world.

Iveta“Education is the most powerful weapon in the world”

Hello!!

I am Iveta from Lithuania, 19 years old.

I am a school-leaver, so the question “what to do next in life?” is very important to me. And guess what? I joined DNS!

I always wanted to do something special in life and then I found a DNS program with it’s learning by doing approach. The opportunity to travel, to meet different cultures, new people and, of course, the invaluable possibility to change something in the World and at the same time to learn seems to be “mission impossible” but it is true and it is happening in DNS, that’s why I enrolled. Someone said, that “Education is the most powerful weapon in the world” and I truly believe in this idea, so I am determined to except this challenge, I dare to say, the biggest challenge for me so far and to live my life in a different way based on practical not only theoretical skills.  See you in Tvind,

Marianne from Germany

MarianeHey!

I’m Marianne from Köln in Germany.

I enrolled in the DNS-Team 2010 in April . Before coming to Tvind, I made an apprenticeship in France as a carpenter. After that I kept on working as a carpenter in Bordeaux and Köln. Since a long time I wanted to study pedagogics, but I didn’t like the idea of going to the university and to learn only the theoretical knowledge.

In Tvind I found exactly what I was looking for. A programme that allowes me to combine practical skills in different areas (learning by doing), travelling and then of cause also the theoretical knowledge.

Right now I make my saving-up in the Carehomes/Villas in Tvind. I enjoy this work a lot and it gives me the possibility to get some pedagogical experiences before starting the programme.

Laura from Germany

Written by Susanne.

LauraHello, my name is Laura (21 years) from Germany.

A few years ago I heard about DNS when my brother found it in the Internet and started the Program.

I finished school in 2007 and what I wanted most was going somewhere being on my own traveling. So I went to South America and traveled 1 Year from south to north. After I came back to Germany I still wasn’t decided what to do. Start a study in a normal German university? Sitting around reading books? No thanks, not for me!

So always having the DNS Program in my mind I went again to South America after I worked in Europe here and there to save up some money. I worked then voluntarily in Bolivia with young prisoners, traveled around some more, and in between had a call with DNS.

Now I am finally decided and ready to start DNS, learning by doing, doing practical and theoretical work at the same time, meeting new people and go on learning from the world.

I am glad that I enrolled here and looking forward to start studying in August!

Alessandro from Italy

AlessandroHello to everyone!!!

I am Alessandro from Italy, 27 years old.

Well, after a long period of work in my country I finally decided to change my life and be a part of Tvind School. After visiting my sister (Sara, Dns 2009) in Tvind I think that the unconscious part of my brain pulsed a lot saying to me “go to dns, go to dns, go to dns…”

That’s because here I’ve met interesting people and I felt very smiley and relaxed.

I think DNS it’s the perfect school to improve service of others, responsibilities and to evolve a correct vision of our beautiful world. I will come also to share my skills (principally repairing computers, guitar and shiatsu massages), sensations and thoughts with other people and of course to travel a lot and try to be a good teacher.

Finally I think “if you want a better world, try first to smile in front of all the situations”

That’s all………….CIAO!!!

Natalya from Latvia

NAtalyaHello everyone!

I’m Natalya form Latvia, 20 years old. Since I’m in Tvind (came in April), people keep on asking me why did I joined DNS. Hmm….  I graduated High School two years ago. After just working, traveling and looking for a good place to continue my education. Then DNS found me and I realized that that is the perfect place to be, a place I was searching for. In a few days after Preparatory Weekend I enrolled, stayed here and started the saving up period straight away. From DNS I expect a lot and also am willing to give a lot. All the adventures and challenges that are in my way, I will try to face with a smile. In my own beginning I already understood that the program is hard and demanding and it really is. But It's totally worth it. At the moment I’m working hard to save up money which is needed for the education andI am looking forward to seeing the 2010 team complete. And then we will start…. 1st August please come faster

I did it many times: just me and my luggage, looking straight ahead. What I learnt, is that you don't need a big plan, because everywhere, they are people waiting for you and having their lives to tell about. Here, in Tvind it will be our profession to see and to listen to.
