Katri from Finland

Written by Susanne.

I am Katri a student in The Necessary teacher training college (DNS) in Denmark. As a part of my education I have had the basic educational study subjects, like pedagogy, didactics and psygology. I have also studied nature and technique as a major subject.
I have worked for one school year in a school for youngsters with special needs, where I have put into practise what I had previously learned. I have been teaching for example english and math on different levels. Part of my education has also been multicultural issues and learning about the world we live in.

I hope I will get the change to use my interest in handicrafts with the students.

Michael from Germany

Written by Susanne.

My name is Michael, 39 years old and of German nationality.

I’m an educated constructor with long years of experiences in this field.

In 2001 I finalized a development instructor program in Denmark and was working within this field for 6 month in Zambia. Here I got insight into some of the struggles Africa is fighting with. Now since 3 years I’m at a teacher training college and learned a lot about different cultures, human understanding and human relationships. This wisdom and knowledge I like to share to move peoples heart so that all of us reach out for a peaceful future of our world.

Jasper from Netherlands

Written by Susanne.

My name is Jasper from the Netherlands, i´m 25 years old and i’m in DNS 2007 saving up period.

In August my team will start the DNS education and we are really looking forward to starting. Before I joined Tvind (as a DI) I worked as an Social street worker in the Netherlands for 5 years. It happened that the government became a right wing and decided that my job was not necessary, which is completely the opposite in my opinion. So then you stand there and I can make a choice. Make a higher education and join in for 4 years in a school. But wanted to see and travel. Get out of this world and smell the world.  In that time with that feeling I met Humana People to People. I joined the Development instructor program. I followed my program in Tvind, home base of DNS, and went for 6 months to Africa, Malawi. Then you come back, back in reality and I couldn’t, I didn’t feel I could go home and continue my life like nothing happened. You see a need of development in Africa, and the ignorance of the western world to Africa. My hearth was saying NO…so I decided to join DNS.

Agnes from Hungary

Written by Susanne.

Hi everybody,

I am Agi from Hungary and I am 24. Lucky number. So where to start? Yes, I am here. In Denmark. I was travelling a lot (whole Europe) in my life; I saw many things, lived in other countries, tried a lot. Most of the things that I have done were great. I was happy, I had fun. Enjoying life. I was always happy and successful. What else could I need? But something was always missing. Something was wrong, was not working….deep inside. Something which you can't say, just feel. A bit, a little… you don't know what it is until you find it. I think I found it now. Helping, teaching, studying, (travelling)…saving a bit of this planet…If I just think on it, it makes me happy.

How I came here it's a long story, but the first step was on the internet. Then everything came easily.

If you wanna be surrounded by good people, learn and help, your place is here… doesn't matter who you are … everybody will like YOU.

Helga from Hungary

Written by Susanne.

Hi!

All my life, I have been interested in, what I don’t know yet. I have worked in many places in Hungary, after I lived in Greece, in Germany, in France and in the Netherlands
This time of my life was very interesting and I have learned a lot.
I have met many people, I lost a lot of friends but I have gained many experiences. But I have never known what I was searching for.

Everybody lives for something, everybody's got one life, I want to find what is this for what I live…

Here I feel that I have found something that I have been searching for, what I would like to do in my life. Learn, teach and travel to many countries in the world. My knowledge is growing day by day and I know if I start to teach I can give my students everything that I know. I would like to work with my mind and from my heart instead of working with my hands. And work for one better world for the children. Our world will not become bigger, when we build higher and bigger house, or we can live on the moon..first  we must develop deep inside. This is the key for the door to the new world. With the new generation, because they are the future…

Margarida from Netherlands

Written by Susanne.

My name is Margarida and I'm 25 years old. Before joining DNS I've been studying pedagogy. But studying is going slowly if you don't enjoy the life of a typical Dutch student, sometimes this can be hard to manage. For this I'm very happy to join the team of 2007. I'm looking forward for the time and the experiences that are still to come...

Klaus from Denmark

Written by Susanne.

I'm 20 years old.
So far i have been living most of my life outside Denmark. I have been living for 10 years in South America, and 2 years in Zimbabwe, lately half a year in Brazil. That is a bunch of international experiences, so it would be natural to join the program.
As what concerns my enrollment to DNS, it is due to the fact that i get to be challenged in all different academical aspects, and in personal aspects. I love beeing challenged. I enjoy traveling, so there is no better way to combine all of my needs, for experience, studies, work, meet people, "very different people".
What i expect from these 4 years, is to get some sort of insight, into what studies i would really like to involve my self with in the future. The 4 years should also be an opportunity to discover my potentials, and my limits.
That is it.

Bruno from Portugal

Written by Susanne.

Hi, my name is Bruno, I’m from Portugal and I have just become a 2007 team member. I turned 27 last December and I’ve came to a point in my life that I had to decide what I wanted to do. I've worked in some big companies in Portugal but I always felt there was something missing. So I took the decision of changing my lifestyle to one I believe and really want. And I joined DNS. Why? Because DNS can give me an education based on experience and not based on books and where people really count.
For me, working and helping people is the most rewarding thing there is and that's what I want to do for the rest of my life.
I'm very close to finishing my Master degree in Psychology but I have time to finish it later. For now, people first... I have also a plan to save the world (not all but at least do my part) and I’m counting on my fellow teammates to help me and also for me to help them. If we all help each other, we can really do it...

To be continued…
